Once more, Joni Mitchell beats us all to the punch by a few decades.

.

In my “working life” today, I’m doing a lot around the potential tax cuts for the richest of the rich.  (And by “work,” I mean, in part, some of these fun pieces.)

.

At any rate, 25 years ago Joni was all beautiful ranty about taxes.  Most of this song is about the non-profit tax status hateful and greedy churches got in the 80s.  Which, hey, is also still a timely and revelation tax issue today!

.

Consider this my public service, while holding out for Ms. Mitchell to one magical day appear online in Tumblr form.  (Slash - she’s likely already on here, right?  With some metaphoric titled blog and posting of pics of random beautiful things, etc, etc!)

.

The best lyrical response to fucked up tax structures:

Fuck it!
Tonight I’m going dancing
With the drag queens and the punks
Big beat deliver me
From this sanctimonious skunk
We’re no flaming angels
And he’s not heaven sent
How can he speak for the Prince of Peace
When he’s hawk right militant
And he’s immaculately tax free
