Mindblowing of the day #1 and #2
.
Recently a friend sent me a link to this New Yorker article, with the statement “I don’t know - something about the mixture of intelligence, wolves, and the arts made me think of you.”
.
Of course I had to read it. And so I just discovered the incredible brilliance of Helene Grimaud - the beautiful, eccentric pianist who is obsessed with wolves, and in her spare time runs a conservatory for them in upstate New York. Reading the article also introduced me to the amazing fact that Synesthesia is a thing. I had no idea that everyone didn’t see colors when they hear music, or hear sounds when they see silent movement, or any of the other multiple sensory overlap experiences synesthesia covers! I mean, really?? Everyone does do that, right? Right? Mindblown all over the place. (The sound of a mind being blown is very colorful, btw.)
