It’s an intense reflection on adoption, race, what creates a family, and LGBT families - in other words, a very modern American coming of age story.

It also happens to have been made by one of my best friends, and the chica who happened to be my first teenage girlfriend. Back in the day, we would dream up futures where she would make brilliant films the world would see, and I’d be doing some sort of creative art media political rabble rousing. My 17 year old self feels very good about her prophetic abilities.

But, aside from all those reasons, it’s an amazing doc, worth your time, I promise - check it out!
